Annual Holiday Luncheon & Toys for Tots Gift Collection

On December 6, Dames and their guests were entertained by the singing group, WACquettes with Mark Burnell, their director, arranger and accompanist on the piano.  The WACquettes entertained us with seasonal songs including their version of the Messiah.  Mark also played a couple pieces for us including the Marine hymn in honor of Marine guest and our 4th annual Toys for Tots drive.  The program ended with a sing along of favorite Christmas carols with all in the audience participating.

Thanks to Jeannine Bergeron and our Patriotic Service Committee, this year marked the fourth anniversary of NSCDA-IL participation in the Toys for Tots gift drive.  Through the generosity of Illinois Dames, we collected a significant number of toys for the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Division in Chicago.  Gunnery Sergeant Daniel Hernandez, Jr. again attended the Holiday luncheon to gather toys, enjoy the festivities, and thank the Dames.  Your support is truly appreciated, and your parcels of joy will surely brighten many a youngster this holiday season!
