LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!
Our thanks to The Fortnightly of Chicago for extending invitations to the Illinois Society for a virtual film discussion. Close to fifty attendees participated in group discussion led by film critic Lee Shoquist on Zoom.
This city has been featured on the silver screen for over a century, with iconic and easily-recognizable locations in classics like The Blues Brothers, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Dark Knight, and many more. Chicagoland with its a long film history is also home to many groundbreaking films in every conceivable genre – from newer and classic movies, to blockbusters, family favorites, as well as underground and cult classics. Special attention was given to Ordinary People, Risky Business and The Untouchables.
