Kindred Conversations
Readers enjoyed Fredrik Backman’s novel, “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry: A Novel” as a story about the power of fairy tales to inspire and heal, as the protagonist finds redemption among quirks along the way. With whimsical charm and warmth, this narrative touches upon relationships between grandmother-granddaughter and an ensemble of eclectic characters in fantastical situations. It is a poignant tribute to the everlasting bonds of deep family ties that brought readers alternately to tears and laughter, and sometimes to both at the same time.
