NSCDA-IL is dedicated to furthering an appreciation of our national heritage through historic preservation, patriotic service and educational projects. To this end, the Illinois Society offers an annual award of $3,000 to a graduate student studying American history. The award recipient’s research must help enlarge and deepen the general body of knowledge about the development of the nation from colonial times to the more recent past. Preference will be given to applicants planning to teach American history.
